Reflection!

What have I learned?

Throughout this process, I have learned how to use blog as a casual way of writing my classwork. I learned the difference in what is informal and what is formal. Knowing how to produce a tone within the blog in order to prove my point across. With the method of quick and dirty research I found out how much information I can obtain from just simply looking up keywords... Although maintaining a blog wasn’t an issue because I did have this website that is very similar to a blog, but more of an art blogsThus, I knew how to place a layout of the blog that could be easy accessible and creative. Also, when I did peer evaluation on other classmate's blog, I found different ways and perspective within their blog. Each and everyone has their own way to prove their point across and how they get their point through. The structures used within the blog is different from each other and I learned certain ways to produce a blog. Actually, as I type each post, surprisingly I'm learning more because I start to research a little more in depth of a certain area of my post. I guess it's always good to have a little ore more knowledge.

Hello Sleep

In this 21st centuries, teens are slowly becoming more dependent on technology. You know? Nowadays, teens are constantly on their phones. There is all this fantastic information that spreads like wildfire have intrigued our generations to the point that we don’t even value our sleep anymore. Social media has been becoming more of a trend where we use to share and communicate with others but it is also causing a negatively effect on people... and possibly even our self too. We have become so much more sensitive to everything that is posted online to the point where we are starting to bash other people. This is where cyber bullying comes into play, which is causing us to have depression and sleep deprivation as a resultSo, Technology is starting to become more harmful than beneficial to usThe blue light spectrum that is being emitted from the device has postponed our sleep by producing this surge of energy instead of telling us to sleep. The brain is misinterpreting the blue light spectrum as the daylight which keeps our body's internal clock aligned with the environment. This blue light is suppressing this hormone that influence our body to go to sleep, in which it takes so much more longer to fall asleep and we're sleeping at a shorter cycle.  So as a society we're experiencing sleep inertia and become more sleep deprived. we are feeling groggier and lacking mental clarity. Many people are that don't get enough sleep is more likely to be linked to increased risk for depression, diabetes and cardiovascular problems. Just know that there is a risk from using technology. It better to be aware of these risks than not.

By Maria Konnikova

In this source, Konnikova explains how in modern days, we have been sleeping a lot less and have gotten into the norms of sleeping under 7 hours. By Jean M. Twenge

This source is explaining how we humans have been revolved around technology to the point where we don't interact with people anymore. We are always looking down on our phone and checking to see if there is anything updates or messages to reply back. Twenge explain how technology leads to lack of sleep and depression, or one of those two leading to another. Now in modern days, kids are being exposed to technologies instead of toys or interaction with peers to hang out.

The Flight From Conversation
By Sherry Turtkle

This source is explaining how technology is something we use to communicate now. We neglect human interaction instead we use our phone or laptop to communicate. Which leads to the point where we don't need physical communication. Technology has lead to the illusion where we can fix ourself and show the better version of ourself.
