The CrepeVine- Pasadena, CA

Very fond memories of Pasadena this past Sunday as we went to the Vinyl Toy Show at the Pasadena Conference Center. We were amongst the first 100 people to stand in line and we got an awesome gift bag. Below are all the toys that we got. Not shown are the books, magazines, and lot of stickers still inside the bags. I think each gift bag's value is $100+! I also bought some Gloomy Bear toys as well as Sho-Po Plop :)


After the show, our hungry stomachs led us to walk towards Colorado Blvd which was only a street away. We had a goal and it was to go to CrepeVine for brunch. If I didn't happen to look down the alleyway I think we would've walked right past and not noticed the small bistro.

The interior was warmly painted with a hues of light olive and reddish rose and was well lit from the large windows. Seating was also available outside but since it was rather warm that day, we took a seat next to the window instead.

^ We started with a French Onion Soup to share. $5

Absolutely wonderful, with a seemingly endless amount of cheese

^ I ordered the Eggs Benedict w/ garlic fries $10

Perfectly poached egg, with just the right amount of Hollandaise sauce. The capers were a nice touch. Fries were excellent too.

^ The SO ordered the Croque Monsieur Grilled Sandwich w/garlic fries $9

He seemed to enjoy this. I took a bite and felt it was too rich especially after the French Onion Soup. The sandwich had black forest ham, gruyère cheese and béchamel sauce on the side

All in all, a very enjoyable experience at the CrepeVine although I did notice an extra $1 charge to the sandwich and when I inquired, they mentioned that they recently changed the price but have not edited the menus yet and that they'll gladly fix the bill, which they did.
