Gourmet Pie & Cafe- Los Alamitos, CA

After a successful trip to Cypress' Marukai 98 Cents Store Plus, we drove over to the Gourmet Pie & Cafe as I was longing for their apple pancakes. It was busy, as it was Mother's Day, but since it was just the 2 of us we got seated in less than a minute.

The interior is like a much brighter and sunnier Mimi's cafe with a more homey feel to it as it was mostly booths rather than a mixture.

^ He got the Pancake Sampler which had 4 different pancakes.
Banana Walnut, Apple, Blueberry, and Buttermilk. He didn't like the banana one but the rest were very good.

^ I got the ABC Omelette- Avocado, Bacon + Cheese. It's supposed to be a 3 egg omelette but you can deduct 1 egg and save a $1 which I did. 2 eggs was more than enough for me as this also came with Homefried Potatoes and choice of Toast.

^ I also added a side of 1 Apple Pancake. I tried to make it look like those ghosts that Pac-Man eats but my SO thinks it looks like a skull :P

A very satisfying breakfast! They also serve lunch and I believe dinner but I have never tried their non-breakfast items. (This was my 2nd visit) On your way out, you can also pick up a pie to take home or any of their bakery items. I recommend their Boysenberry Cheesecake Pie as it's not too rich nor too sweet.

Right across the street is a Costco too for convenient shopping.
